Worldwide rock stars united in the symphony concert in Ataturk Sports
Hall. The show will remain unforgettable for the audience. Worldwide famous, young-generation virtuoso, Alexander Markov, well-known American artists Ivan Bodley and Gregg Gerson appeared on stage together. The concert lasted for 3 hours, was conducted by Erol Erdinc. The combination of both rock and symphonic music fascinated the audience. |

In the first part of the concert, the orchestra played Tchaikovsky’s
violin concerto. In the second part, the symphony orchestra, Alexander
Markov, Ivan Bodley and Gregg Gerson played A. Markov/J. Remington’s
“Rock Concerto.” The musicians declared: “Rock music is (typically) played with smaller bands and is louder (than classical). But music is universal. Music is music everywhere. We started this project in the most suitable way for combining rock with the symphony orchestra.” |

There was a standing ovation for Alexander Markov, Gregg Gerson and
Ivan Bodley after the symphonic rock concert, which was conducted by Erol
Erdinc. The harmony of the symphony orchestra and the rock group was fascinating. The Bursa Symphony Orchestra won recognition with the “symphonic rock” concert in Ataturk Sports Hall. In the first part, violinist Alexander Markov played Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto op:35 in D Major. |

Although the weather was bad outside, the concert hall was full. Markov attracted attention and received a standing ovation. He played Paganini for the encore, a piece which helped him achieve his fame. Famous conductor Cem Mansur was also among the audience. | |||

In the second part, drummer Gregg Gerson, bass player Ivan Bodley and Uludag University Music Faculty Polyphonic Chorus accompanied the orchestra as they played Alexander Markov and J. Remington’s “Rock Concerto,” which was received with great interest due to it’s combination of genres. One of the most interesting parts of the show was where Ivan Bodley played the darbuka (hand drum). | |||

The Bursa State Symphony Orchestra’s concert brought world-wide
artists together Friday night. The Bursa State Symphony Orchestra’s concert in Ataturk Sports Hall united one of the most talented young generation violin virtuoso, Alexander Markov, with famous American rock musicians, Ivan Bodley and Gregg Gerson, together in Bursa. In the first part the orchestra, conducted by Erol Erdinc played admirable (classical) pieces. The second part was totally fantastic and fascinating. Markov played his “Rock Concerto” with bass player Ivan Bodley and drummer Gregg Gerson, who has worked with world-wide famous stars. |
